An excerpt from a recent interview
What is your definition of Black Ice?
I see it as Shifting landscapes within Reality, A movement of caricatured moments within my life... Captured. Not just my life, but life in general. It's an oxymoron; for diamonds- which is ice- are not black in origin, but are shiny, white and sparkle.
Though my ice is black, my ice is my life force, my drive my determination, it sparkles through. For I am alive in the darkest recesses of my mind. It's a cliff dive into my personal battles of building and sustaining my self worth and value as a whole, which I have found is relatable to every being on this earths surface. Confidence is nothing more than an ingrained self perception of one's worth and ability.
Black Ice also denotes a paradoxical outlook, as I view life, my life within the age old realm of light and dark, struggle and accomplishment, good and bad, Ying and Yang. Within this dissection of the complexities of my existence... our existence lies the true story of Black Ice.
What inspired you to explore such topics in your 1st body of work.
The initial feelings I had when I embarked on the project were very lightly based on the themes I mentioned. It was a much more general direction without specialization. As I continued working on the tracks A new direction unfolded as I became unusually introspective, and was stuck on a certain theme that I carried on a few tracks. I decided that I'd make this project a lot more personal and exorcise my demons if you may. As you can imagine that has caused a setback. But I'd rather take longer to produce something I'm happy with.
Any Features?
Well I got my Urban Empire Family on a few tracks, currently in talks with a few People in Melbourne And Sydney, but I won't mention any names for now. Production wise, I got a few joints, Vingi Flamez got a few joints, TDot the hit maker, and few other surprises.
It's a mixtape, are they all original tracks or do you have some main stream stuff on there.
My personal viewpoint is that the term has been cheapened somewhat, just a personal viewpoint, I can release a mix tape today, but i would rather call it a free album, there's no commercial gain, but the effort is as if there was. So to answer your question it will all be original material.
When is the project going to be released?
Soon,
